Hello guys, this is my 8th post and today I'm going to talk about my experience learning English at university.
To begin with, I must tell you that this last time has been quite difficult, because studying online is complicated. It has been difficult for me to focus on my studies because spending all day at home and on the computer is very tiring. But despite everything, I really liked the English classes. I learned and enjoyed pretty much the activities between my classmates and the teacher.
At first, I was very scared because I don't have a lot of vocabulary to speak fluently, so I didn't really want to participate in classes for the reason that I was embarrassed to make mistakes. However, when I realized that there was no need to be afraid of anything at all, I had the courage to speak in english even though it took me a long time to do it.
I feel like during this English course I was able to unlock one more skill and forget about the fear of making mistakes because finally there's nothing wrong with it. Just the opposite, you learn as you make mistakes.
On the other hand, making blogs every week allowed me to learn grammatically how to write certain things, thanks to the use of dictionary and some web pages that helped me to formulate a better sentences, according to the context I wanted to express. In addition, It was a good experience to know the stories of my classmates, to know what career they study and what their dreams, convictions and hobbies are.
I think I have to improve many things about my English. First of all, I need to know more vocabulary to be able to speak more fluently. If I can do it, I will feel more confident about myself. And also, I have to study more about grammar and pronunciation. So, in the end, if I do this periodically, I will be able to learn a lot and eventually become a bilingual person. That's my dream.
Since the English classes started I've been speaking in English almost every day. It's funny because I usually speak in this language but my mom doesn't understand what I'm saying. My dad, on the other hand, actually understand some words and he tries to answer me in his own way. I laugh a lot when that happens hahaha. I try to speak English every day (even to myself) to improve my pronunciation and see if I can do it without the help of a translator or dictionary. Doing that has helped me a lot. In addition, I usually listen to many song in English to learn new words and contextualize myself in the different meanings of some concepts that exist today.
That's all I have to say now, thank you very much for reading me.
Regards. Take care.
I thought I was the only one who speaks to myself in English. I don't know why some people find it weird, it helps a lot haha.
