Post #7: Changes to my study programme

 Hi everyone, this is my 7th post and I'm going to talk about my study programme. Lately I've been thinking that everything has been exhausting because I'm almost finishing the second semester of my degree and I have many homeworks and evaluations to do. So, for the same reason, everyday I think about some things that could be changed from the curriculum of the degree that I'm studying. 

As you know, I'm studying Pre-School Teaching. And I really like this university degree. Since I began to learn about children and their development and learning processes I've felt a lot of happiness and calm, knowing that it's something I want to work in the future. Being a teacher motivates me a lot because I feel that I can be a great contribution to society and in particular to children. 

My career lasts 5 years. And I don't have issues with that. Most of the subjects that I have to study are very interesting, but in my opinion there are some that should be studied in the fourth year of the degree, such as "Investigation Methodology" and "Educational Methodology". These subjects are specifically based on research. The objective is to look for social-culture problems in education or social issues that prevent quality education. Therefore, due to the thesis begins in the 4th year of the degree, these subject must be a support and complement to it. The last year is about getting into electives and doing the thesis.  

On the other hand, the subjects that I like the most are: "Social constructions about childhood", "History and fundamentals of education" and "Pedagogy of diversity and social inclusion". During the first two years the subjects of the curriculum mostly embrace only the theory of preschool education in many areas. Contents are taught from the biological and psychological sphere to the more social sphere of education and childhood. It's just amazing. But there is also a subject that includes practice and is taught from the first year, where as students we go to different educational centers to do an observation of the work in kindergartens. 

Just as I entered this degree, the pandemic happened, so I don't know anything about co-curricular activities like sports or extra workshops. And besides, I don't know the campus, the infrastructure or even the university buildings... 

About the use of technology, we are currently in a pandemic, so I have gained many computer skills as well as I have known applications and computer programs to make videos, infographics, power point presentations, etc. 

And finally, the teaching techniques that I've known so far I like too much. All my teachers are great and you can tell that they love to educate and their vocation is in pedagogy.
